Advanced Bionics Settles Majority of Recent Product Liability Claims

After several years of legal battles, Sonova, the owner of Advanced Bionics, has reached settlement agreements with the majority of the parties who filed product liability claims related to the company’s cochlear implants, claiming the company knowingly kept defective hearing devices available for public purchase and use.

These settlements follow a recent Louisville U.S. District Court jury’s ruling in the case of Sadler v. Advanced Bionics, previously discussed here, in which the Sadler family received $7.25 million in damages after their daughter, who was four at the time of the 2006 incident, was severely shocked by her defective cochlear implants.
