This landmark partnership establishes the hearing healthcare advocate among the industry’s most notable organizations.
EarQ is the first hearing healthcare network to apply and be approved for associate membership with the Hearing Industries Association (HIA), the national trade association of hearing technology manufacturers.
As one of the nation’s leading hearing healthcare advocates and supporter of private practices, EarQ is the first network of its kind to become a member of the HIA. By joining the trade association, EarQ is able to work alongside its manufacturing colleagues to ensure the industry continues to evolve through education, research and the production of the finest hearing device technologies available.
“Our industry has faced many new challenges and the HIA is an organization that quickly acts to overcome these challenges,” said Ed Keller, president of EarQ. “We are honored to join the HIA and its efforts to serve and protect the millions of Americans with untreated hearing loss.”
Roughly 36 million Americans suffer from hearing loss—and that number is on the rise. Recent studies have shown that one in five teenagers has hearing loss, as well as 60% of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. However, due to lack of education and negative connotations, roughly 80% of those with hearing loss choose to suffer in silence.
Through their joint efforts, EarQ and the HIA will help change that forever.
