EarQ will be featured during many of the pre-game activities in New Orleans this year, including the NFL Locker Room—a private lounge for active and retired players to escape from the hectic flurry of media attention. Select EarQ members will be on hand to discuss hearing health with the players and members of their families. Representatives of the hearing healthcare advocate will also answer questions regarding the EarQ Hearing Education and Discount Program for the NFL Players Association. Professional football players are largely susceptible to hearing loss, mostly due to their overexposure to the dangerously high decibel (db) levels found in most stadiums. At field-level, the average noise can reach over 100 decibels, a level that can begin to cause hearing damage after only 15 minutes of exposure.
